What we do

Why what we do matters

After the 1948 Nakba, thousands of refugee families lost their homes and livelihoods. Since 1956 the Cooperative has turned traditional skills into income, education into opportunity, and solidarity into a lasting institution.

From skill to opportunity

Four reasons our work matters

  1. Heritage

Tatreez carries the identity of Palestinian villages and families. Producing and selling it keeps that knowledge alive.

  2. Income

More than 300 women earn from home through embroidery and tailoring, in camps, villages and towns.

  3. Education

Vocational courses, literacy classes, sponsorships and a kindergarten open doors for women and children.

  4. Solidarity

As a cooperative, members share responsibility, decisions and the results of their work.
